Classes in Hellgate will be based on a selection of one of the three “factions,” within each faction is two classes. Hellgate will therefor have 6 classes total. Classes currently advertised;
Found some good gameplay footage from a developer walkthrough [1|2] on GameTrailers.com. Found out the names of the two Cabalist/Magic classes (Summoner & Invoker)
Here’s another showing Co-op gameplay.
Looks interesting. I have a preorder in and waiting on the beta key that goes with it. Hopefully I can be running around killing stuff with wild abandon by the weekend. Other advantage of the preorder is a Founder special thing that allows you to pay something like $150 and get a lifetime subscription (whatever ‘lifetime’ ends up meaning). You have like 30 days after launch to decide if you want to use that perk or not. You get some other trivial items too with the preorder.
Since they don’t actually charge you for a preorder until the game ships, its a good way to get into the beta and try stuff out. Beta is supposed to be 9/17 through 10/7, but they have stated they are goign to run beta as long as possible up to the actual game release on Halloween.
Where do you have your pre-order through?
I want to pre-order through BestBuy, but it seems like they might not be offering any pre-order… at least not in time to take advantage of the features I want to take advantage of (like the founders club which is only available to the first 125,000 people who register to be a “founder.”)
Although, I do like the EA Dye Kit (yellow/Wasp), and if I could find the EA pre-order page, I think I might succumb and pre-order through them.
I went through GameStop. They have the “Lava” dye kit. I looked around and I dont see it for sale on either EA or Bestbuy for some reason. No idea whats up with that. Both EA and Best Buy had their own dye style, just not sure why its not (or no longer) available for purchase from them.
Fwiw, you can preorder from WalMart and get the “Royal” dye kit.
So, got my invite, got my approval and am d/l atm. 3.73gb d/l. About an hour to download it. Will try it out later tonight.
Let me know how it plays… I’m still fairly upset that BestBuy doesn’t seem to know their rear end from a hole in the wall. I’m considering the EA kit, but they don’t seem to be advertising the pre-order any more.
I decided to order from GoGamer.com since they had the Wasp dye kit which I also liked (at least until they posted the Marksman color scheme… blue and gray… They say that Wasp color scheme is blue and yellow while they maintain that the Royal color scheme is Yellow and Purple… wtf!?!… I didn’t see any yellow or purple in the original Templar photo of the Royal dye kit.)
The look of the dye supposedly varies depending on the armor its applied to.
When you get in let me know and maybe we can group a bit. I have yet to do that at all with anyone. They just did a patch and character wipe yesterday so everyone is new again.
