I decided to give it a spin on my last post to see whether or not I’d like it. While I think I’d still prefer to have a user level plugin (and may eventually code one to ensure that I can do it the way I’d want) I’ve decided to convert all of the personal posts about my girlfriend to password protected posts for the time being (presently, they’re all private and not accessible to anyone, even me… so for all intents and purposes, they’re unpublished.)
What I’d like is to have a way to ensure that my friends can see updates about my personal life (and my girlfriend) without sharing that information with the rest of the world. I realize that for any random stranger who wanders by and reads my desire to post information on the internet (and especially blogging about that information) but restrict that information will be scratching their head. The whole point of blogging most of the time is to get information out there… whether that information is about yourself or a topic you’re manic about…
On the other hand, Undecided is not like other blogs. It’s really just a notepad for myself and occasionally I like to throw out information about my personal life. But the problem is, I don’t really have any desire to tell the world about me. The reason this is on the internet as opposed to a computer that I own is because I wanted the notepad accessible wherever I go, so that should I want to look up things that I’ve written in the past from a friend’s house, I could do that.
