After logging in to a new system for the first time, one of the first commands a technician should run is the command that outputs the system issue and version. This is important because, while all systems use the SL1 command line interface, each system version and issue has it’s own set of features and programming techniques unique to it.

Once you have the release, issue and version, you can go to Nortel’s support website and download the documentation for that release and issue. Unfortunately, Nortel does not provide a one-size fits all version table lookup document, so I created one.
